Summer 4-H Camps, Events, & Activities

Junior 4-H Camp will be held June 8-11, 2026, at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville, Tennessee. This camp is open to all 4th-6th grade students in Smith County. The cost to attend is $380.

Looking for some summer fun? Smith County 4-H has tons of opportunities for Smith County 4-H’ers of all interests and ages this summer!

4-H Camp offers 4-H’ers a chance to have fun, meet new friends, hang out with old friends, learn new skills, and develop positive self-esteem. While offering youth an exceptional learning experience, 4-H Camp also builds self-confidence and maturity and provides youth with the chance to meet and make friends from throughout Tennessee.

Smith, Wilson, and White County will host this year’s Multi-County Livestock Clinic at the Smith County Ag Center on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Clinicians who specialize in livestock species like sheep, goats, swine, and cattle will work hands-on with 4-H’ers. At the clinic, we will cover topics like fitting and grooming, skillathon, and showmanship. This is a great opportunity for youth who think they might be interested in showing livestock in the future or who are currently showing livestock. The clinic is open to grades 4th-12th. The cost to participate is $10 per 4-H’er, and this includes Tennessee Youth Quality Assurance Certification for all participants.

Jr. High 4-H Camp will be held on May 25 – 29, 2026, at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville, Tennessee. Jr. High 4-H Camp is open to students in grades 7th and 8th. The cost to attend is $385. This year, the theme is “Lights! Camera! Camp!” Campers will experience a classic summer camp with activities such as ziplining, archery, kayaking, sports, and a hint of movie magic!

Camp applications will be accepted beginning April 4, 2026, at the UT Extension Office. The deadline to register is April 28.

Please note that campers will be responsible for their own transportation to and from Jr. High 4-H Camp.

Target SMART Camp will be held at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville, Tennessee on May 25 – 29, 2026. This camp is open to all 5th – 9th grade 4-H’ers as of January 1, 2026. If you love hunting and being outdoors, this camp is for you! Experience all disciplines through a rotation of Shotgun, Muzzle Loader, Archery, and Rifle stations throughout the week. Evening hunting skills activities are planned, as well. The cost for the camp will be $385 which includes the camper’s room, meals, activities, as well as ammo and target cost.

Campers do not need any prior shooting sports instruction to attend this camp. The deadline for Target SMART Camp registration is May 8th.

Junior 4-H Camp will be held on June 8 – 12, 2026, at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville, Tennessee. At this five-day camp, campers will have the opportunity to make new friends and participate in activities like swimming, canoeing, fishing, arts & crafts, wildlife, sports, woodworking, tie-dyeing, air brush, rifle range, archery… and many more! Activities are designed to be hands-on and fun so that children are actively engaged. This camp is open to all 4th – 6th grade 4-H’ers. The cost of camp is $380, which includes meals, room, board, most activities, and transportation.

Camp applications will be accepted beginning April 4, 2026, at the UT Extension Office. The deadline to register is May 15. Some camp scholarships in the amount of $190 are available. Scholarship applications are due by April 27.

Everybody is talking about it... Tennessee 4-H Academic Conference

Academic Conference will be held at the University of Tennessee Knoxville on June 9 – 12, 2026. Academic Conference is open to 6th – 8th grade 4-H’ers. Participants receive intensive training in their 4-H project area under the supervision of university scientists and specialists and explore related career opportunities. The conference provides a variety of rewarding and fun-filled experiences in classroom, outdoor and laboratory settings.

Delegates are selected on basis of application. For more information about the application process, please reach out to Ms. Rachel at rpetty@utk.edu. If selected, the cost to attend is $100.

Applications are due by March 30th.

We're blowing up hotdogs and some other stuff! Information about TN 4-H Electric Camp

4-H Electric Camp will be held on June 23 – 26, 2026, on the campus of the University of Tennessee Knoxville. This camp is a fun-filled, rewarding adventure into the world of energy, electricity, energy conservation, electrical safety, and other basic sciences. 6th – 8th grade 4-H’ers will learn what electricity is and how it works, have the opportunity to work with electrical specialists from across the state, and participate in hands-on activities that encourage them to learn by doing. Learn about robotics, electric vehicles, home energy conservation, electric lamps, wind energy generation, electrical safety, and more! Campers will also have the chance to meet other 4-H’ers from across Tennessee and explore careers in energy, electricity, and other scientific fields.

The cost to attend Electric Camp is $340. Two full scholarships will be awarded by Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (UCEMC) to Smith County campers. These scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

The registration deadline for Electric Camp is May 15th.

Application for Coastal Blueprint Behind the Scenes FCS Camp

FCS Behind the Scenes – Coastal Blueprint will travel to Savannah, GA on June 26th – 26th, 2026 to explore design-focused career pathways, including interior design, architecture, art, culinary arts, and more. This event is for teens in 9th – 12th grade. Participants will connect with SCAD, take part in architecture and design tours, explore the city through guided walking experiences, and engage in a variety of hands-on and immersive FCS learning opportunities. The cost to attend is $450.

Registration begins April 1st. There are 20 available spots that will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pioneer Camp Information

Central Region Pioneer Camp will be held at Camp Woodlee in Warren County, Tennessee, on June 30-July 3, 2026. Pioneer Camp is a rustic camping experience that is open to 7th – 9th grade 4-H’ers. Campers will enjoy four days of shooting sports, mountaineer skills, adventure, and more! The cost to attend Pioneer Camp is $185. 4-H’ers will be responsible for their own transportation to and from Pioneer Camp.

Registration is due by May 16th.

Cajun Craze Culinary Camp flyer

4-H Culinary Camp will be held at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN, on July 8 – 10, 2025. The theme is “Cajun Craze”, and students will explore the tastes, art and history of Creole culture through hands-on learning opportunities. Culinary Camp is open to 6th – 8th grade 4-H’ers. The cost to attend Culinary Camp is $175 and campers will need to provide their own transportation to and from Murfreesboro.

Registration opens April 1. Smith County has spots for two campers to attend Culinary Camp. These spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
