Livestock Judging

The Smith County 4-H Livestock Judging program gives youth the opportunity to learn more about cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs. 4-H’ers learn critical thinking and teamwork while developing self confidence in their decision making skills. Senior High 4-H members must defend their placings by giving oral reasons.

Practices usually begin in February and the Regional Contest is held in April.

To participate or learn more about Livestock Judging, please email Katie Martin at kclark54@utk.edu or call 615-735-2900.

Livestock Judging is open to all Smith County 4-H’ers in 4th-12th grades.
