Forestry Judging

The Smith County 4-H Forestry Judging program allows 4-H’ers to become experts in tree identification, pacing, compassing, and tree measurement. Youth have the opportunity to get outside and enjoy nature while learning new skills and developing their critical thinking.

Practices usually begin in August and the Regional Contest is held in September.

This year, our first Forestry Judging practice will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. at the Smith County Ag Center.

To participate or learn more about Forestry Judging, please email Katie Martin at kclark54@utk.edu or call 615-735-2900.

Forestry Judging is open to all Smith County 4-H’ers in 4th-12th grades.
