4-H Grillmaster Challenge

The 4-H Grillmaster Challenge contest consists of a team of four 4-H’ers in which each team member creates a recipe and grills one of the following meats for judging: beef, pork, chicken, or lamb. Teams are judged on fire and food safety skills along with taste.

By participating in the 4-H Grillmaster Challenge, 4-H’ers learn teamwork, nutrition and food safety skills, and the art and science of grilling in an outdoor setting.

Practices usually begin in July with the Regional Contest held in August.

This year, our first practice will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, ay 3:30 p.m. inside the Livestock Arena of the Smith County Ag Center.

To participate or learn more about Grillmaster Challenge, please email Katie Martin at kclark54@utk.edu or call 615-735-2900.

Grillmaster Challenge is open to all Smith County 4-H’ers in 6th-12th grades.
