FCE stands for Family and Community Education clubs, originally known as the Home Demonstration clubs in the early 1900’s. The FCE Clubs are now service oriented and focus on providing educational information for families and service projects for the community, thus the term Family and Community Education Clubs. These clubs are open to all persons within the community without regard to race, color, nation origin, sex, age or disability. There are 8 active clubs within Smith County, governed by the County Council. In addition, a Mailbox Membership is available who would like to be a member but cannot attend monthly meetings. FCE Clubs meet monthly in community locations or in homes. While the focus has been traditionally on women, we highly encourage the participation of men and have a large number of active male members within our FCE organization. At this time we have approximately 190 members in Smith County. For more information on the FCE Clubs see the FCE Page on the left.
